This 3 1⁄2 hour Driver CPC course includes • The fire triangle • The various causes of fires • The various types of fires • The various methods of heat and fire spreading • The four main types of fire extinguishers • Understanding the colour banding • Selection of the correct type of extinguisher • Safe use of the fire extinguisher • Additional dangers associated with flammable liquids, Flammable solids and Flammable Gases • Oxidising agents and Organic Peroxides • Dangers and causes of a BLEVE • The dangers of asphyxiation • The importance of maintaining a means of escape • Abandonment of any hope of being able to extinguish a fire in a vehicle load • How to deal with burns The course includes practical exercises and confirmation quiz sheets
