The majority of Public Inquiries are held as a consequence of maintenance failures or vehicle defects and many of these could have been avoided. ‘S’ marked prohibitions are those prohibitions where the driver should have identified a road safety vehicle failure/defect.This popular course looks at the process, not just from the point of view of the check itself, but all aspects that surround and affect compliance. It is delivered not by a classroom geek, but by one of our trainers with years of real world hands on PSV operational experience • Explanation of the consequence of driving a defective or poorly maintained vehicle. Case histories and a list of possible sanctions, prohibitions or fines for doing so. • Advice on the dangers of driving a defective or poorly maintained vehicle • Explanation of the requirement for companies to properly maintain vehicles • Advice on conducting thorough vehicle checks. Including: • Fluids • Connections • Windscreen and mirrors • Panels, locks and doors • Tyres, condition and tread • Lights • Seat belts and interior fittings • Advice on common defects on vehicles • Common defects due to maintenance issues • Common defects due to accidental damage • The necessity to report defect The course includes a practical exercise and progress confirmation quiz.
